H. Cushman Anthony

H. Cushman Anthony joined the Yawgoog Staff in 1921 and served as the Deputy Director of Yawgoog until 1950, when he became the Director. He served as the Director of Yawgoog until retiring 1968. In 1981 he organized and founded the Yawgoog Alumni Association.
The Crafts Center, H. Cushman Anthony Stockade, and 216 acres of land, Anthony Acres are named in his honor.
He was inducted into the Rhode Island Hall of Fame in 1985 and was his Class President at Brown University (Class of 1926). H. Cushman "Gus" Anthony passed away August 2, 2000 at the age of 96.
