Reservation Patches
Camp Yawgoog Patch
Description: This circular patch features a red border with a cut edge and a white background. "CAMP YAWGOOG" is in two lines at the top and "NARRAGANSETT B.S.A." curves around the bottom; both phrases are in dark blue. In the middle of the circle, Chief Yawgoog, wearing moccasins and dark blue trousers, is walking to the left while carrying an overturned red canoe overhead, so that only his torso, arm and the tip of his nose are visible. The canoe nearly stretches from one side of the patch to the other. A dark blue pipe with dark blue smoke extends below the canoe. The back of the patch is uncoated. This design is the first patch to feature the Chief Yawgoog logo. The logo was created by artist Allan W. Halladay (who also created the "Red Rhody" rooster character). First produced in 1951, the patch served as the focal point for the system of activity segments that replaced cloth strips. This patch has been discontinued.
Dimensions: 2.5 inches (6.4 centimeters) in diameter.
Yawgoog Scout Camps Patch, Cut Edge
Description: This circular patch features a red border with a cut edge and a white background. In the middle of the circle, Chief Yawgoog, wearing moccasins and green trousers, is walking to the left while carrying an overturned yellow canoe overhead, so that only his torso, arm and the tip of his nose are visible. The canoe nearly stretches from one side of the patch to the other. A red pipe with black smoke extends below the canoe. "B.S.A." appears in red directly above the canoe. The back of the patch is uncoated. The name "Yawgoog Scout Camps" was used when other Narragansett Council camping areas, such as Aquapaug, Kelgrant, and Winnisucket, were considered to be Yawgoog's "outposts". This patch has been discontinued.
