The Captain George Bucklin ‘FOR MERIT’ Award

This medal was provided for in the will of Capt. George Bucklin, Scout Benefactor. Since the 1940’s, the Executive Board of the Narragansett Council has awarded one medal each year in each District for “long and faithful service”. This award is designed to recognize Scouters who have been outstandingly devoted. The recipients of the award should be ‘head and shoulders’ above the average in loyalty and devotion to their Unit, Institution, District/Division and in years of leadership.
